Destination Barcellona: Palau de la Musica Catalana

Located in the Born district, a stone's throw from the famous Laietana Street, the Palau de la Musica has been a landmark of the social and cultural life of all Catalan citizens for over 100 years.

The Palau de la Musica is the result of two great dreams conceived in the early twentieth century: one, that of the amateur company Orfeo Català looking for a place to perform, and which over time will become one of the most famous choirs in the world; and the second, that of the architect Lluis Domenech i Montaner, who decided to challenge all the classical canons of a normal theater to give life to a jewel of Catalan modernism, a palace that represented Music.

Today, with great pride for all the Catalans, the Palau de la Musica has become the most unique Modernist Auditorium in the world, proclaimed Unesco heritage in 1997.

This "garden" of lights and colors was built between 1905 and 1908 by the ingenious mind Lluis Domenech y Montaner, just in the same years in which another genius, Antoni Gaudi, was building the Casa Battló.

In 1909, just a few years after its construction, the building was immediately identified and awarded by the municipality of Barcelona as a masterpiece of Art Nouveau, and in 1971 it was declared a National Monument.

The building has a central metal structure covered with glass, which, when receiving natural light, transforms this pearl of Catalan modernism into a magical music box, where all the applied arts are combined with harmony and lightness: sculpture, mosaic and glass work.

Born in Riccione, a seaside town on the Italian coast of the Adriatic Sea. Of Italian father and a Russian mother, I always define myself a crossroads of cultures, in fact I never identified with a nationality, considering myself a real world citizen.
From the early years of life I've traveled, living periods of time abroad, experiences that have further increased my openness towards the new and the different, and the ability to think outside the box.
I'm graduated Expert for Tourism, and continued hmy studies with a Masters Degree in Economics and Management. During and after the studies, I had a multitude of different jobs, mostly oriented towards tourism (my true passion, together with art and opera). Since 2008 I lives in Milan, working in the finance department of an Italian multinational company.
My passion for culture, led me to found in 2013, Kitabu, a publishing house specializing in the publication of books in electronic format, with which in 2015 I launched various projects regarding web-based magazines about different cultural and leisure themes, on of wich is TravelTv.
Despite the many commitments, however, I've never stopped traveling extensively the world, trying in every place to identify myself with the local population.
